Valbiotis valide l’efficacité de Steadrive® en clinique
Le laboratoire Valbiotis, expert français de la santé cardiométabolique, qui a développé Steadrive® (ex-Totum• 448), un ingrédient capable d’agir sur l’accumulation des graisses dans le foie, vient d’annoncer la finalisation de l’étude clinique Cardio-liver testant son efficacité.
L’étude a été conduite en partenariat avec l’Université Laval à Québec dirigée par le professeur André Marette. Randomisée contrôlée contre placebo, elle a été menée en double aveugle auprès de 71 volontaires présentant une stéatose hépatique sans fibrose, associée à un surpoids ou une obésité. Pour cela, les participants, répartis en deux groupes, ont été supplémentés pendant quatre mois avec Steadrive® (4,28 g par jour) ou avec un placebo.
Les résultats détaillés de l’étude seront présentés lors d’un congrès scientifique international, mais l’entreprise annonce déjà des données positives.
« Nous sommes très satisfaits de disposer aujourd’hui des premiers résultats de cette étude clinique sur Steadrive® qui montre une réduction de l’accumulation de graisse hépatique, et qui permettra également de mieux comprendre les mécanismes d’action impliqués. En effet, les premières analyses mettent en évidence des résultats très intéressants non seulement sur le foie mais aussi sur différents paramètres métaboliques mesurés chez les sujets de cette étude clinique. », indique André Marette, professeur titulaire à la Faculté de médecine de l’Université Laval (Québec).
Cette étude vient compléter les données d’autres études, ayant fait l’objet de quatre publications et de 14 communications dans des congrès internationaux et marque ainsi l’achèvement du programme de développement clinique de Steadrive® mené depuis plus de dix ans.
Un lancement commercial en France
Fort de ces résultats, Valbiotis annonce la commercialisation de ValbiotisPRO® Foie à partir du 23 septembre 2026 en France. Le produit, présenté sous forme de pilulier, sera distribué dans les officines ainsi que sur le site marchand de l’entreprise.

In France, 20% of the population has excessive fat accumulation in the liver. Often asymptomatic at first, this condition can progress to severe inflammation, then to fibrosis, cirrhosis, or liver cancer. Treatment relies on lasting lifestyle changes, including weight loss and dietary adjustments.
Valbiotis Confirms Steadrive®’s Efficacy in Clinical Trials
Valbiotis, a French laboratory specializing in cardiometabolic health that developed Steadrive® (formerly Totum• 448)—an ingredient capable of reducing fat accumulation in the liver—has just announced the completion of the Cardio-liver clinical trial testing its efficacy.
The study was conducted in partnership with Laval University in Quebec City, led by Professor André Marette. It was a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind trial involving 71 volunteers with non-fibrotic fatty liver disease associated with overweight or obesity. To this end, the participants, divided into two groups, were supplemented for four months with Steadrive® (4.28 g per day) or with a placebo.
The detailed results of the study will be presented at an international scientific conference, but the company is already reporting positive data.
“We are very pleased to now have the initial results of this clinical study on Steadrive®, which show a reduction in hepatic fat accumulation and will also provide a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms of action. In fact, the initial analyses reveal very interesting results not only regarding the liver but also concerning various metabolic parameters measured in the participants of this clinical study. ,” said André Marette, full professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Laval University (Quebec).
This study complements data from other studies, which have been the subject of four publications and 14 presentations at international conferences, and thus marks the completion of the Steadrive® clinical development program, which has been underway for more than ten years.
A Commercial Launch in France
Building on these results, Valbiotis announces the launch of ValbiotisPRO® Liver in France starting September 23, 2026. The product, available in pill form, will be distributed through pharmacies as well as on the company’s e-commerce site.
